AuthStat® Carrier Monitoring
As part of a Due Diligence process, transportation intermediaries have the responsibility to ensure that they do not
utilize a motor carrier that is either operating illegally or has been determined to be operating in an unsafe manner.
QIS' AuthStat® service provides the assurance that they are using Motor Carriers that have the right to engage in
Interstate Commerce.
Clients of our AuthStat® service receive a daily report showing any changes of their carriers authority status.
This report is an alert notification that the FMCSA has taken action against a specific motor carrier's operating
authority. This knowledge gives the client the proactive ability to work with that motor carrier to get any issues
corrected, thereby eliminating a problem before it can effect the clients business.
The reported actions include:
- Name Change
- Added Authority (Certificate, Permit, or License)
- Revocation
- Notice of Action
- Revocation of Authority
- Reinstatement of Authority
- Transfer of Authority
As with all services provided by QIS, the AuthStat® report can be tailored the client's requirements, and emailed
in any of several file formats. To find out more about this service, or any other service provided by QIS, simply fill
in the form below and we will contact you within one business day.
For more immediate needs contact QIS at 419-824-0013.
NOTICE: Under SAFETEA-LU, a Motor Carrier's Base State can now effect its Interstate Operating Authority. Prior to the
enforcement of this law, a Motor Carrier could be placed Out-Of-Service in an Intrastate capacity, but still be able
to operate in Interstate Commerce. SAFETEA-LU effectively enables a carrier's Base State to place that carrier
Out-of-Service
nationally. This law requires the FMCSA to review the reason for a State revocation and determine if
the cause is sufficient to revoke the carrier's Interstate authority. SAFETEA-LU retains the FMCSA's right to revoke a
motor carrier's Interstate authority for Safety and Insurance reasons as well as broadening its scope and the type of
carriers that must comply with the UCR filing requirements.
